This week I went to Godstow lock and nunnery, near Oxford, for a late afternoon maternity photo shoot. It is a lovely place for photos, as there is the river, a big flood plain, lock and an interesting tumbledown nunnery, although a nunnery is a rather ironic place for maternity photography! This location also has particular meaning for me, as it is the place I went to the day before I had my first child.
This location was particularly good as the mum-to-be suffers from PGP, which flares up if she walks any distance. The car park is relatively close to the location, and all photos were taken within a few hundred meters. The sun was setting rapidly, and the warm glow of evening was only there for the first part of the shoot. However, the location is beautiful at any time of the day. Sadly I had to rush home after the shoot, rather than enjoy the view from The Trout nearby.
And a bit of silliness before we left
